  • File for Unemployment insurance if applicable
  • Resume- continue to tweak and improve, have several versions
  • Indeed, Monster, CareerBuilder, HotJobs
    • Create accounts, if you don’t already have them
    • Post resumes
    • Search jobs
    • Create automatic job search alerts (that come every day)
  • LinkedIn
    • Update/create profile (should mimic resume)
    • Seek and add all of your past professional contacts
    • Solicit recommendations from contacts you’ve worked with
    • Join NYC CU Alumni group and other relevant networking groups on LinkedIn
  • Staffing Firms/Head Hunters- contact every single one
  • Networking- extremely important
    • Seek out relevant networking events/groups and attend their parties/happy hours/etc. Attend as many as possible
  • Target specific companies you are interested in
  • Business Cards
    • Go to office supply store and get non-perforated business cards for your computer/printer
    • Print up a bunch with your name, email, phone number, and brief description (optional) about what you are/do; i.e. insurance professional…
